Bar Mitzvah by Jamie Walters & Co

One Marylebone is famed for its corporate events, but Jamie Walters & Company proved that Private Events also work incredibly well by transforming the Grade I listed space over the weekend to create a combination of utterly unique spaces for 200 guests. In the East and West Galleries the reception mood was laid back contemporary, complemented by the sounds of “String Fever” performing from an elevated stage built within the centre of the bar and “Sav” the illusionist dazzling guests. Downstairs the stark contrast was astonishing with the foyer being split into a light white entertainment area, leading into a contrast space which was edgy and chic with a tiger print bar, food stations and black suede furnishing.

The-Recipe were in charge of an Asian inspired menu including canapés of marinated black cod with sweet miso dipping sauce, lime soaked duck with carrot & ginger salsa on gyoza crisp and bowls of Tuna carpaccio, mango, papaya & vermicelli salad, lemon ponzu vinaigrette and Furikake crusted baby lamb racks, apple, ginger & grain mustard dressing.

Martini glasses of Lime posset, mango coulis & white chocolate granite and Miniature Apple tatin with caramel parfait followed, all washed down with Lychee Martinis & Raspberry Mojitos.

The main part of the evening was spent in the Soane Hall which was converted into a Miami style club, with chill out seating, a Perspex dance floor and an amazing curved stage set to house the video wall, DJ and pop star Taio Cruz performing 4 of his tracks including hits “Break your heart” and “Dirty Picture”.
