American InterContinental University London’s School of Fashion hosted its 2010 Graduate Fashion Show and marketing exhibition to press and trade on 27 May at One Marylebone, featuring 14 international graduates’ BA (Hon’s) Fashion Design and Fashion Design with Marketing collections, providing just a snapshot of the talent produced by AIU London this year.

The runway exhibited 14 collections from international students from North and South America, the Middle East and Europe featuring unique and ground-breaking design work. Inspirations ranged from feminine romanticism with delicate draping and pastel hues to military armour, vintage textiles as a sustainable source and retro-futuristic design. MORE INFO

Chris Levine’s – L I G H T

 The Genesis Foundation commissioned revered light artist Chris Levine to install a glass crucifix in the former Holy Trinity Church on Marylebone Road. Levine’s installation formed part of the Genesis Foundation’s 2-day cultural event in the heart of London. The installation embodied light’s remarkable ability to restore equilibrium between the hearts and minds of the human race, and was on show to the public at One Marylebone from 2nd-3rd June.

The foundation, set up by John Studzinski CBE in 2001, aims to help inspire young individuals in the fields of music, theatre, and the visual arts. It seeks to nurture and develop emerging talents until they reach a point of sustainability. Artists are either selected directly by the foundation or on the recommendation of established figures and institutions in the arts. Harry Christophers’ choir The Sixteen, which collaborates with the Genesis Foundation, accompanied Levine’s work during the event. The choir performed Genesis Foundation commissioned compositions by award-winning British composer, Will Todd. MORE INFO

Tom Jones album launch at One Mayfair

For its first ever music gig, One Mayfair’s was lucky enough to be host to Tom Jones’ new album launch from Universal Records. With production from John Gibbon who was overwhelmed with the sound quality of the old church, the atmosphere was fitting given the style of Tom’s latest songs. Following the event it was great to get some exposure on www.spinnermusic.co.uk and also on the BBC website. MORE INFO

Parrot Launch AR Drone

One Marylebone played host to the launch of this new Wi-Fi controlled drone from Parrot. Currently available to iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, users can fly the drone on the device and use the in-built cameras to get live video from the drone.
